Who can join PISM?

Any child aged between 2.5 to 16 years old is eligible to join PISM.

 

How to join PISM?

You need to fill out an application form and submit a copy of your child’s birth certificate, a copy of their passport and visa status if they are classed as a foreigner, a copy of the parent’s National Registration card (NRC) for Myanmar citizen, a copy of passport and visa status for foreigner parents, a copy of family’s house hold list, a copy of his/her updated report card from previous school and 2 passport sized photos. Please submit all these documents to the respective school’s reception during office hour 7:30am to 4:30pm.

 

What are the year levels offered at PISM?

  • Early Year Foundation Stage: Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Kindergarten (age 2.5 to 5)
  • Primary School (KEY Stage 1 and 2): Year 1 to Year 6
  • Secondary School (KEY Stage 3): Year 7 to Year 9
  • IGCSE (KEY Stage 4): Year 10 and Year11
  • AS/A level (KEY Stage 5): Year 12 and Year 13
 

Does a student require to sit for a placement test?

All new students are required to sit a placement test in English and Mathematics before acceptance in PISM.

 

Are the Registration Fee and Placement Test Fee refundable?

The registration fee and placement test fee will not be refunded because this will allow us to cover the administrative fees of the application process. A student who wants to return to the school after leaving for more than 1 year must also pay the registration fee.

 

What are the school hours?

EYFS:

  • 9 am to 3 pm (1:10 pm to 3 pm nap time)

Primary School

  • Year 1: 9am to 2pm
  • Year 2 to Year 6: 8am to 2pm

Secondary School

  • Year 7 to Year10: 9am to 3pm
  • Year 11: 8am to 3pm
 

What is the average class size?

The maximum class size is 25 students.

 

Are there any extra curricular programmes offered outside of the classroom?

PISM offers many ECA programmes after each school day. Each and every student from PISM has an opportunity to participate in a range of fun and interesting activities, that will allow them to achieve their goals, realise their potential and passion and also a great help to maintain a well-balanced lifestyle both academically and socially. The ECA programme at PISM is highly valued by students, parents, management and staff.

 

What programmes of study do PISM follow?

Pride International School Myanmar is a Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) accredited school in both primary and secondary schools and follows the British Curriculum. PISM is registered as a CAIE exam centre. So all year 11 students can sit IGCSE exam here at PISM.

 

My child currently attends local school. Can they easily transfer to PISM?

All candidates are considered based on their applications and result of placement test for their desired year level.
