Overview
  • The Mandalay campus of Pride International School was inaugurated in March 2005 and provides a home for Pre-Nursery, Nursery, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Education and has an enrolment of over 200, which includes a significant number of Myanmar, Indian and Chinese.
  • Mandalay follows the same programme as Yangon for EYFS and Key Stages 1-3. That is, the school day runs from 09:00 am to 15:00 pm with 6×50 minutes lessons for 185 teaching days in the school year from August to June, with intensive Exam Preparation Classes for IGCSE candidates panned for April – May, and our class size is set at 24 maximum.
  • Since inauguration the school has transitioned from Singapore based curriculum to the UK National Curriculum from 2014-15.
 

Key Stage 1-2

Years 1-6: Cambridge Primary English, Maths and Science and also Myanmar Language, Computing / ICT, Music, Art & Design, History, Geography , PSHE/Global Perspectives and PE.

 

Key Stage 3

Years 7-9: Cambridge Secondary English , Maths, Biology, Physics , Chemistry and also History, Geography, Global Perspectives, ICT/Computing, Art, Music , PE and PSHE.

In this stage, we will also emphasise the development of

 

Key Stage 4

Years 10-11: Cambridge IGCSE in English, Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, ICT , Accounting and Business Studies.

  • There is an Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) programme which includes Art-Painting, Badminton, Beginner’s French, German, Chinese, Art-Needlework, Football, Chess, Music-Piano, Music-Guitar and Table Tennis.
  • Facilities include 22 general teaching rooms for EYFS and Key Stages 1-4 as well as 3 Libraries, an ICT suite, an Art & Design Studio, a Music Room, a Science Lab, and a Sports Hall, a Multi-Purpose Hall, a small recreational area suitable pitch and a small swimming pool.
  • This year, we have upgraded our former ECA programme to a new Enrichment Programme (EP) which is designed to offer our students opportunities through a combination of recreational activities and academic support. Rather than only sports and arts, we have now introduced core-subject support and an extra IGCSE option in the shape of ICT.
